The Collection on Peace Activism brings together several donations received from individuals associated with members of the Berrigan family and others involved with peace activism. Created in March 2014, this collection contains correspondence, publications, and ephemera documenting peace activism and activists.
The Elmer Maas Plowshares collection dates from the 1940s to 2005, with the majority of materials starting in the 1970s. The collection is separated into two series: Plowshares and Legal Research Files. The Plowshares series includes files about specific actions, general information about Plowshares, writings by Maas, photographs, and videos. The Legal Research Files include various files Elmer Maas maintained about legal topics such as justification and jury nullification.
The Murray Polner papers reflect the research of Polner as he wrote Disarmed and Dangerous: The Radical Life and Times of Daniel and Philip Berrigan. Research materials for the book included in this collection were primarily gathered by Polner in 1993-1996 from publications, archives, the Berrigan family, those who knew them, and Polner's collection of materials on the peace and anti-nuclear movements. Reactions to the release of Disarmed and Dangerous are also included.
