DePaul University Dean Don Casey papers

Don Casey served as Dean of the School of Music from 1995-2014, after serving as an associate professor of music at Northwestern University. As Dean of the School of Music at DePaul, he expanded services as part of the Community Music Division and initiated the annual Christmas at DePaul community holiday concert. Under Casey's administration, the School of Music's endowed scholarships tripled. Casey led a revision of the school's undergraduate and graduate curricula and extended the Community Music Division to provide instruction and instruments to 150 children in Lawndale. Beyond the School of Music, Don served as one of three members of the Strategic Plan Steering Committee to help develop DePaul's Vision 2018 Strategic Plan. Casey has made more than 100 appearances as a music festival guest conductor or adjudicator in 20 states and four Canadian provinces. He served on the Board of the Grant Park Music Festival beginning in 2001. He also led the design efforts for Harmonic Vision, Inc., a music education software company that has reached more than a million children.
