Biographical / Historical
DePaul University Compliance and Risk Management (CRM) was formed in 2003 as the Office of Institutional Compliance. The purpose of CRM is "to foster a culture of compliance and accountability that is consistent with DePaul's mission" (http://compliance.depaul.edu/what/purpose.asp, retrieved August 14, 2014). To this end, CRM responds to such issues as fraud, misuse of university resources, conflicts of interest, and violations of university policies. It also operates an anonymous Misconduct Reporting Hotline. On July 1, 2014, the office changed its name from the Office of Institutional Compliance to Compliance and Risk Management in an effort to better reflect its role at the university. From that date forward, CRM has also managed university risk and insurance functions.
