Scope and Contents
The collection consists of correspondence, meeting minutes, photographs, publications, financial reports, and event programs related to the activities of the Nursing Alumni Association. It also includes early administrative materials related to the development of the Association and photographs given to the group by Colonel Grace Peterson. Peterson was a former department chair, professor emeritus, and longtime supporter of the Nursing Department at DePaul.

Biographical / Historical
The Alumni Association of the Department of Nursing Education of DePaul University was founded in 1950. The four objectives of the organization were to promote espirit de corps among nurses who had graduated from DePaul University, to add to the prestige of DePaul by providing spiritual, social, and professional advancement among its members, to encourage interest, cooperation, and participation among its members in the development of educational activities in the department of nursing, and to fulfill the responsibility of the community as both a citizen and a nurse.
