The collection includes research materials Rowe created or gathered for The Book of Zines: Readings from the Fringe. The collection includes zines, correspondence, and questionnaires sent to zine creators asking them to document what inspired them to launch their zine, why publish, tips for aspiring zinesters, and to list their favorite zines.

Biographical / Historical

According to the blurb on the back cover of Chip Rowe's book, The Book of Zines: Readings from the Fringe, Rowe is the creator of the zine Chip's Closet Cleaner and This is the Spinal Tap Zine. According to LinkedIn, Rowe studied journalism at Northwestern University; was a Senior Editor at Playboy Magazine from 1994 to 2013; and in 2001, became President of cc Media, an editorial firm that produces websites and eBooks.
